Since the early 1980s, Orlando Orlandini and his small team of highly trained designers and craftsmen have been working to create one-of-a-kind pieces that have won prestigious, worldwide acclaim and consequently earning Orlandini a position as one of the most renowned designers in fine gold jewelry. Born into an artistic family, his mother being a painter and his father a successful sculptor, Orlando began early on to gravitate towards the beauty, brilliance, and flexibility of gold. After attending the Fine Arts Academy in Rome, he became an official gold-smith, creating soley art-jewelry. In 1983, Orlandini converted a 14th century convent in the Chianti hills of Tuscany where he lives and works today alongside his wife Carmela and their two children Paladino and Lydia.Inspired by the magical environment steeped in history where he lives and works, Orlandini is constantly researching new techniques to create innovative designs, most of which are then patented. Once a piece has been meticulously studied and the design drafted and re-drafted, it is painstakingly made entirely by hand without the use of any machinery. Most of Orlandini’s creations reflect the simplistic beauty of nature or mimic the flexibility and drape of fabric. Combined with the brilliant shimmer of yellow, white, or rose gold which is emphasized by hammering and shaping every surface by hand, each piece is a small, exquisite sculpture meant to highlight and accentuate the body. Due to the delicate, handcrafted process, each piece is considered a limited edition with only 100 pieces per design made for each country. All bracelets, rings, necklaces, and earrings are engraved with its progressive edition sequence and each jewel comes with a guarantee of authenticity, signed and numbered by the artist.
